Property Description
ROOMY & BRIGHT 10-RM CONTEMPORARY HIDDEN AWAY . . .
Retiring? Shouldn't your last house be the best one ever?
A country house that's just right . . . Roomy, tucked away and private, in beautiful surroundings, comfortable, and with a little land to call your own.
Eleven years ago when we started our search for a home to retire to we were looking for an old house. It was just on a whim that we took a look at 25 Tarbox Road in the town of Rindge.
It turned out what we really wanted was a comfortable, roomy, contemporary-style house, with 10 rooms and high ceilings, and lots of light and big windows with the beautiful woods peeking in every one, hidden away in a private corner, and yet with all kinds of conveniences very close by, and a wood stove that is so nice to light up in winter, and an attached work shed, and a 2-car garage, and a big wrap-around deck for potting herbs and having meals outside, and enough land to plant a nice vegetable garden and flowers, iris and yucca, blackberries, tomatoes and . . . And we bought it.
Most previous owners have not been retirees. Families have been raised here; a home business has been run; it's even provided sleeping quarters for up to 12 kids from the neighboring Quaker high school (but those stack beds and room arrangements have been long altered away). There are 5 rooms that could easily serve as bedrooms (although only 2 have closets built in). You could also use the 3-room ground floor of the wing as an in-law apartment; or make it 2 kids bedrooms with a large central playroom. There is plenty of flexibility here.
We will be moving soon to a Continuing Care Retirement Community, so we've got to get real. Reasonably priced at $265,000 I expect things will happen rather quickly.
Don't delay. Questions are welcome. More pictures can be taken if needed. Visits are encouraged. You can also visit our website (built just to show the house): tonyandjoellendambrosio.com
